Solar energy from Russia: Installation of the 15 MW solar park Elista
The solar park Elista with the capacity of 15 MW is located in Astrakhan, one of the Russia´s sunniest regions. With SPP Yenotayevka and SPP Volodarovka, this PV park is the third successfully implemented large-scale project of GILDEMEISTER LSG Solar Rus and is part of a government program to promote solar energy in Russia.
The stricter requirements regarding the use of materials were a particular feature, because at least 70 percent of the components should be from Russian production. A special local content audit was applied to check on compliance with these specifications. As soon as the park is connected to the public grid, a qualification check for the wholesale supply of energy and the Russian electricity exchange will be carried out.
The installation of the PV plant was completed in record time: within just 13 days a total of 45 000 modules were installed which means about 3 500 modules per day. After a three-month test run, the plant will be commissioned in May 2019 and is expected to generate more than 20 gigawatt hours of green electricity per year.
Like the previous two projects, SPP Elista has been developed by VERSHINA Development LLC and GREEN SOURCE GmbH. Funding was provided by the Austrian company CORE VALUE CAPITAL GmbH.
By the way, it will not be long before the next success story is going to be announced: another project is already under construction and will be commissioned this year as well. Just like the previous projects, the PV Plant Mikhailovskaya will have a total capacity of 15 MW and will be implemented by GILDEMEISTER LSG Solar Rus.
